Amazing Gut, led by Dr Jerry Zhou, was the winner of the 2026 Challenger Pitch for Health Challenger Prize.

The company emerged from Western Sydney University research and is developing Ins&Outs, a TGA-cleared connected device, app and clinician dashboard designed to bring anorectal biofeedback therapy from specialised clinics into the home.

This is a serious access problem.

Proven therapy exists, but too few patients can reach it. For many people living with constipation, incontinence and chronic rectal pain, the result is ongoing symptom management rather than access to treatment that can address the underlying dysfunction.

This is exactly the kind of pathway Challenger was built to support: identify strong Australian health innovation, put it in front of serious judges, clinicians, investors and sector leaders, and then help the most promising companies move from pitch to company building.

Congratulations to Jerry and the Amazing Gut team.

We are pleased to support the next phase as they work to make proven bowel disorder treatment more accessible for patients.
